LoL : LCS EU Summer Finals at Paris, Survival Guide.

We are extremely proud that Riot chose our country and our capital city to host the Finals this week-end. We want you to have a wonderful time here, so here’s a Survival Guide with every information you’ll need: how to go to the Arena, things to do while waiting, a few french tips and more!

How to go to the Accord Hotel Arena?

Let’s do the most boring part first: traveling in Paris. Rek’Sai herself built the tunnels under Paris, and if you don’t want to lose yourself forever in those, here are some tips:

“Bercy” [map] is the closest metro station to the Accord Hotel Arena -for now on, I’ll just say “The Arena”-. Metro lines 6 and 14 are stopping at Bercy, and those lines have connections with all over lines in Paris. You can come to the Arena with 2 connection or less, which is pretty simple. You can take shortcuts with more connections but less travel times if you like risks.
There is a fare: to travel inside Paris, you need to buy a 1,90€ ticket. You can go anywhere you want with this as long as you don’t get out of the Metro.
We advise you to have at least 10€ for traveling in Paris. If you arrive at an airport, you must have at least 20€.

When you arrive at “Bercy” just go out and turn around: here is The Arena! You can see the entrances on this LoL esport map : but here is a bonus, a Google map with all the entrance marked, easier to read. (Paint level Challenger).

What can I do while waiting or around The Arena ?
 

Welcome to Paris! You are now outside, in front of The Arena. But you still have three hours before the gates opening and you don’t know what to do not to get bored. Don’t worry, we planned everything!

This part of Paris is next to the suburbs, so it's not overcrowded and with awesomes green spaces. If you don’t want to read, here is a full loop with all point of interest.
The Seine’s quays : First of all, if you want to hang out a bit before the event, you can cross the bridge in front of The Arena and walk by the water, eating or/and drinking (a lots of things are about eating and drinking in France, you’ll get use to it). It’s a great place to take a new Twitter profile pic or to make a new Instagram post with a melodramatic description. Linked here is a nice little 20 minutes loop for those who want.

The BNF : Bibliothèque Nationale de France (National Library of France) [map]: When you are in front of The Arena, The Seine in your back, turn around and look left : you’ll see four buildings looking like corners of an invisible rectangle. This is the BNF, or National Library. It’s a nice place to visit, some exhibitions are free and there is a really nice little jungle in its center. But care, sometimes we can see Kha’Zix or Rengar roaming around… don’t be part of a Bonetooth necklace. Here is a loop with the quays and the BNF.

Bercy’s Park [map]: When you face the The Arena, the Seine in your back, look right : there is a big and awesome green space, known has “Parc de Bercy”. It’s an great place to hangout and breath fresh air before the finals. With its mazes of plants, little lakes, fountains and more, we will love this place! (Care for the Teemo though). Here is an updated loop with Bercy’s park.

Bercy’s Village [map]: You arrived at midday and don’t know where to eat ? You are getting out of The Arena and you are starving? You want a new pet (I don’t know maybe)? You want to see a movie? This is THE place, just after Bercy’s Park. It’s a really cool and beautiful place, with a lots of restaurants and shops. You can go to Kaiser’s Bakery. Kaiser is a famous baker, known for his baguettes. And I’ll recommend you “The Frogg” for a beer or a meal. A warm place with delicious burgers and fabulous beers (Don’t drink alcohol if you are under 18, it’s bad for you and the world, you’ll become a Skarner, but smaller and uglier). And as usual, updated and final loop !

A few french tips to communicate with froggies :

Je veux ça (I want this/that ; pronounce : Je ve sa): “ça” means this and that, super useful to talk with waiters, or when you are lost.
Où est [place name] ? (Where is [x] ? pronounce : Ou ): When you are lost. You should know that streets = rues, left = gauche and right = droite. But with our guide, you’ll never get lost!
Bonjour, comment ça va ? (Good Morning, how are you ? pronounce : Bonjour, coman sa va ? : Some kind words to start a conversation. You’ll enjoy the surprise on the Parisians faces as you say this, we don’t use kind words very often. Hello = Salut, if you want something more simple.

Je veux une baguette (I want a baguette ; pronounce : Je ve une baguette): needed sentence to survive in Paris. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to bring baguettes in The Arena: it will be considered as cheating. French players have a secret ability that multiply their skills by the number of baguettes in The Arena (seriously though, don’t bring baguettes or Riot will send Talon to kill us).

How to enjoy the French cast? Tips and tricks to be part of the best public in the World.
 

We saw the comments after Riot post about the Finals in Paris. We know that some of you are really concerned about the French cast. How to I enjoy it if you understand nothing? Here are a few things to know:

We have songs and some implicit rules.

Don’t hold yourself back: We are here to scream, shout and feel emotions together. When you what to clap, clap, when you want to jump, jump, when you want to loose your voice go on.
Follow emotions in The Arena: We are 20 300. If 20 300 peoples shoot together, the players will never forget that. When the casters go wild, follow them. When the public go wild, follow it.

Happy Birthday, Hanssama! Sunday, it will Hanssama 18th, in his home city and home land. It’s a big moment for him and for us, his first LCS Final after only two splits in the competition. We will scream for him and grettings him with a “Joyeux anniversaire Hanssama”! The song is the same as in English, just substitute “Happy Birthday to you” for “Joyeux anniversaire”

[casters] Spartiates, quel est votre métier ? [public] AHOU AHOU AHOU. “Spartans, what’s your profession?” quote from 300. We did this at the Paris All Start, it could happen again. Just shout with us, pretty simple.
[casters] [Team or player name] Prenez votre énergie !! [public, arms up in the air, screaming] The famous “Take my energy”. It could be in english. There for stand up, lift your arm for the Genki Dama to be more powerful than ever.

Our casters:

As you might notice, we love food and we are proud of our gastronomy (that’s why english use a french word). That’s maybe why some our most famous casters are named Chips & Noi, who literally means Chips… and Nuts. Even if you don’t like Mars, they invited Tweekz to join them. Furthermore guys without food-names also like to show their love for foodstuff. For example, Zaboutine really likes to wear his favorites Pringles socks.

Feel free to speak a bit with them if you have the chance to meet them, they are really friendly. But they are not the only french content creator you’ll meet there. If you see a big crowd taking selfies with people you don’t recognize, it may be Sardoche, the french Tyler1,  DominGo and his “Stream Team”, the equivalent of the Echo Fox’s “Dream Team” or Eclypsia one of the best french team with streamers only.

Fnatic’s after party:

If you want to go to Fnatic’s after party, get out of the Arena, cross the Seine, take right on the other side follow the quays until the 34 rue d’Austerlitz. It takes approximately 10 minutes to get there, here is a map. Fnatic's event on facebook 

Detailed tips on how to go to The Arena from any train station or airports in Paris :
 

From Orly Airport: [route]

Take the ORLYVAL at K door if you are in Orly South and the A door if you are at Orly West. Take the ORLYVAL and stop at Denfert Rochereau to take the Metro Line 6 towards Nation, and stop at Bercy. You can take the Orlybus at Orly, door A at Orly South, longer travel time but cheaper. Stop at Denfert Rochereau to take the Metro Line 6 towards Nation, and stop at Bercy.
The Orlyval costs 9,30€ and the Orlybus costs 7,70€ plus the metro fare (1,90€), it will be 11,20€ or 9,60€.

From Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport: [route]

Take the RER B (there is two RER stops in the airport, both will do the job) towards Châtelet Les Halles. Try to take a through train to Châtelet Les Halles. Then stop and take the metro line 14 towards Olympiades et stop at Bercy.
The ticket RER cost is 10,30 and it allows you to travel inside Paris as well.

From Gare de Lyon: [route]
Take the metro line 14 towards Olympiades and stop at Bercy, a ticket is 1,90€. You can also walk to the Arena, here is a map.

From Gare du Nord: [route]

Take the metro line 4 toward Mairie de Montrouge and stop at Châtelet. Then take the metro line 14 towards Olympiade and stop at Bercy.

From Gare de l’Est: [route]

Take the metro line 4 toward Mairie de Montrouge and stop at Châtelet. Then take the metro line 14 towards Olympiade and stop at Bercy.
